EI-PD

Erikson Institute-based Professional Development (EI-PD) has been the core means of teacher development that the project has implemented since its creation in 2007. By the end of the 2010-2011 school year, it will have impacted over 300 teachers, 100 schools, and 8,000 children within Chicago Public Schools.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the professional development model that has matured in the EI-PD and EI-Seminar programs will take shape within EME Innovations and other partner school programs.

It’s working

We’re making a difference in children’s math skills. Our research shows that children in the classrooms of teachers in the project learn more about math during the school year than children whose teachers did not participate.
